What This is All About

This blog is kind of personal for me, yet I'm sharing it. I had the idea because my mom once told me that when she dies she wants people to share funny stories and memories about her, she doesn't want it to be sad. I figure that she deserves to hear my stories while she is alive...it isn't fair to save them for a time when she can no longer experience them with me. She's my best friend and this is for her. Also, James (my husband) is always telling me I should write a book, but a blog seems much easier...for now!

The Birthday Girl

Today is my mom's birthday. All of my life I have been lucky enough to call my mom a dear friend. She has always been there for me, taken care of me, listened to me, supported me, and loved me. I can say without a doubt that she is the only person in my life who has never let me down, she is the one person I know I can always count on no matter what. She has loved me enough to spend several of her birthdays doing things that I'm sure she'd rather not do. Last year around her birthday she was helping me unpack at my new apartment, when I was in 8th grade she spent a good part of the day taking my brother and I places we needed to go, she even sat in the car and waited on me to get my nails done for homecoming. She has always put her children first, even on a day that is supposed to be all about her. I wish I could be with her today to help her celebrate, but hopefully we'll get a chance to have fun together some time very soon. Happy Birthday, Momma! God truly blessed me and Trey with an incredible mom. Thanks for everything!!
